Back to School Bootcamp: Interpreting Poetry

Let's learn about oral interpretation - but what is it?! Is it acting? Is it public speaking? Neither! Oral Interpretation is a way for students to read and understand different literary forms and then convey that understanding to an audience by using their voice and body. In oral interpretation, you portray the thoughts and feelings of someone else. In this class, Our resident acting Host, Cheryl, will lead students through the works of Shel Silverstein, and as a group we will interpret them to the class This event is part of our Back to School Bootcamp Series: Enriching small group activities to help your kiddos get back into the swing of having a schedule and practice key skills. Our camps are designed to engage kids so parents can get some time back for themselves!

Ages 6 - 10
Materials Required
You'll be sent a document with a collection of poems. Feel free to have it up on the screen, print it out, or follow along without it!
